Signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Financial Intelligenc Processing Unit and the Directorate General of National Security on 22 september 2025

As part of the confirmation of the joint commitment between the Financial Intelligence Processing Unit (CTRF) and the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the two institutions in order to ensure the effective, rapid and secure exchange of information with a view to detecting fraudulent and criminal practices in the areas of money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the President of the CTRF, Mr Mohammed SAOUDIA, accompanied by the Director General of National Security, Mr Ali BADAOUI, in the presence of senior officials from both parties, signed a cooperation and information and data exchange agreement on Monday 22 September 2025 at the DGSN headquarters.

 

                        

It should be noted that the signing of this agreement is part of a joint commitment to implement the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), in particular those relating to national coordination, both technically and in terms of effectiveness, between the various government agencies active in the fight against money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

 

This agreement is an important additional element in the comprehensive approach adopted by the Algerian State to strengthen the national system for preventing and combating money laundering, terrorist financing, the financing of weapons of mass destruction and other financial crimes.
